Here is the risers ready to be sprayed
This is were art meets design. Shaping the riser is done with rasps, files and power sanders. It's hard to describe the steps. I generally start with the rest and site window, then I move to the grip and finally to the end of the riser. It's nice to have a bow to look at, or even a few pictures of what you have in mind to do. The lines should flow, I don't like square, boxy risers. Imagine the lines of a beautiful woman, now you know what I'm talking about, right!

My first Selfbow
This is a short sequence of my fist attempt at building a self bow. The wood is Osage and came from Virginia from Clay Harrison. Bow is 66" nock to nock and pulls 54# at 29".
